Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss secured a lights-to-flag victory in the British GT Championship race at Donington Park this afternoon (Sunday). The pair piloted their 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to a faultless win after seeing off the threat of the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini of Alex Martin and Sandy Mitchell.
The distinctly-liveried #42 2 Seas Motorsport car led away from pole position into Redgate corner following a dominant qualifying display on Saturday, with the second-place sister 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes losing a position to the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 of Alex Martin, moving down to third place. Charles Dawson pulled out an early lead of three seconds in the 2 Seas Motorsport Machine as the sister Mercedes-AMG pressured the second-place Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2.
Dawson held the lead confidently throughout the first stint, pitting from first place to hand over driving duties to Kiern Jewss, who resumed in the lead ahead of Sandy Mitchell in the Barwell Motorsport Huracan. Mitchell pressed Jewiss throughout the second half of the race, with the former hounding the rear of the Mercedes in the dying minutes. However, Jewiss hung on superbly, crossing the line to secure victory in the first race of the 2025 season and cementing 2 Seas Motorsport as early favourites in the championship.
Maximilian Gotz guided his 2 Seas Motorsport car home to complete the podium, followed by Marvin Kirchhofer in the Optimum Motorsport McLaren 720s GT3 Evo and the Team Abba Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Richard and Sam Neary.
The safety car was required in the first half of the race after the Blackthorn Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, piloted by Giacomo Petrobelli, made contact with the GT4 Lotus Emira of Ian Duggan and Joe Wheeler while lapping the Mahiki Racing machine, leaving the Lotus stranded in the gravel.
GT4 honours went to the Optimum Motorsport McLaren Artura of Marc Warren and Jack Brown, ahead of the Century Motorsport BMW of Ravi Ramyead and Charlie Robertson.
